Doug DeHaan Back To Germany To Finish Series & More

1/4/2002

Recapped By: Carl Hein

Doug DeHaan is making plans for his 2002 Supercross and 2002 Motocross assault.  Doug will not be participating in the west coast EA Sports Supercross series, as he’ll be in Germany finishing up his European tour.

This weekend Doug is heading to the Toronto Motorcycle show prior to returning to Germany.  Jan 12th DeHaan will be racing at Dortmund followed up by a Jan. 19th weekend race at Kiel.  This will be the end to the Germany series in which Doug is currently 7th in points.  Doug did mention that “I’m currently in 7th but 10 or 12 points our of fourth.  Moving up in the standings is a definite opportunity in the final two rounds if I ride well.”  Currently Yokum Rodriquez from Portugal is leading the series with Cameron Taylor, Brett Metcalf and Steve Boniface rounding out the top four.

Doug’s tentative plan is to attend the East coast Supercross races but doesn’t know what bike he’ll ride.   Doug said, “I hope to get my hands on a Honda CR450F especially for the outdoors but I’m currently securing my bikes so it is still up in the air.”
