Canadian Rider Doug DeHaan just got back from Europe where
he raced at Sheffield England and prior to that Doug raced the US Open of
Supercross. Doug said, “The US Open was a last minute thing. I was planning on riding an Arenacross race
in Canada that weekend but I was glad plans changed. I was doing photo shoots and commercials in Calgary for the new
Hondas when Jason Mitchell of Blackfoot Honda asked if I wanted to go. I changed plans and went to Las Vegas. I rode in the 250cc class and failed to
qualify both nights. Friday night I was
in qualifying position in the last chance qualify when Ryan Terlecki and myself
were entangled in a turn and Ryan’s bike was stuck in my rear wheel. Overall I rode well but most of all I had a
lot of fun.” “In England I was able to finish 5th on a
basically bone stock CR250. I was
running 3rd until Mike Brown slid by me and towards the end of the
race Kim Ashenazi slid by. It was a
tight track with ruts, which wore down to the concrete. The facility was really nice. In the future I will be taking my own
suspension to Europe.” “I’m currently still working on my race team plans for
2002. I’m talking to some people at
this time and still listening to all offers (nothing set in stone). I’ve ridden the CR450F earlier this year and
really liked it. We’ll see what the
future brings.” “Thanks for stopping by my web site,” Doug DeHaan |
