I got off to a good start
at the first US Outdoor National of the year.
It was also my first race on a Yamaha and the bikes are working really
well. It was a tough first Moto for me because of the heat, which at this time
of the year I’m not fully accustomed too. I have not adjusted to that yet since
coming in to the race and from a week of testing in snow flurries. I still rode
a good pace throughout the 1st Moto to finish 18th. The second Moto, I got into
a groove after the first couple laps and rode a smooth consistent race to
finish 15th. I was on the rear tire of Jason
Thomas for a long time during the moto and have all the bruises to prove it as
his CRF 450 blasted me with rocks. Overall, I finished 17th which I
feel good about, but know I can improve on that going into Mt Morris. Also, I
would really like to thank Bridgestone for the help. The track was slick and
dry, but thanks to them I had good traction all weekend. Talk to you later! DD |
