Hello Internet Visitors, I would first like to say thanks for
visiting the web site, as I finally was able to drop a race recap in from
Germany. Things are shaping up nicely. I just finished a good weekend in
Dortmund. On Friday night I won both my qualifiers. In the main event I started out fifth and moved up to third and finished
close to the leaders at the end. Saturday,
the main began poorly. I got caught up on a rider and a hay bale in the first
turn, then later in the race had a mid air collision with Shane Metcalf the Aussie
rider, I didn't go down but my hand was smashed pretty bad by his handlebars. I finished up in sixth which was good enough
to take the points lead into Sunday's race. The last main of the weekend Casey Johnson
and I came out one-two and it stayed close the whole main. I was a little faster in the whoops but
couldn't make the pass into the next corner... so with that completed race there
is a one-point gap with two main events to go. The next race is in Keil, I have won
there before (in 99) and will have to win again....should be a fun
weekend...!!! Doug DeHaan
